Cape Dorset Suclpture: Derek Norton & Nigel Readingtuk is the son of carver Sharky nua, who was killed in a boating accident while walrus hunting in 1979After learning to carve by watching his father, Tuk made his first works when he was 8. he became more serious about carving in his late twenties and oday carves when he is not out huntinghis rounded comfortable styoe suits the animal and human subjects that so interest him.---------------Taqialuk Nuna is the son of Cape Dorset artist Sharky Nuna. Taqialuk learned how to carve through observing family and community members. He has since participated in various carving workshops and enjoys learning more about his art medium.--------Taqialuq Nuna is an artist who has reached the most active and interesting phase of his career. He has firmly established his personal style and gained a reputation for consistently high quality work.
