Note:
Little information is readily available about the talented Néhinaw (Cree) artist Gordon Six Pipe, also known as Gordon Nightscout. Examples of his artworks and documentation of his output are held at the National Gallery of Canada, the Heard Museum, and a host of regional venues across Canada.

Six Pipe's work explored traditional materials, forms, and processes from 18th and 19th century Great Lakes and Plains traditions, and encourage a tactile understanding of the appearance, and character that historic objects would have had at the time of their original manufacture.

Four works offered in the present auction span a range of Six Pipe's diverse talents, including beadwork, pipemaking, quillwork, and hide construction.

Estimate: $400—600
