www.feheleyfinearts.com Toonoo (1920 - 1969) Toonoo, born in 1920, was one of the first individuals from Cape Dorset to achieve individual recognition as an artist as early as the 1960s. A renowned hunter, he raised his family in the traditional manner until his premature death in 1969. This is one of few works in stone by the artist who was also know for his careful work on antler and ivory. -------------------
