Saggiak

Saggiak was born in 1897. He lived for a time in the Andrew Gordon Bay area at Igalaalik camp with his wife Lissie, but later relocated to Kinngait after securing a permanent position at the nursing station there. His son Kumakuluk is also a sculptor.
Though not much is known about Saggiak, he was an important artist in the early stages of the developing artistic community in Kinngait. He died in 1980.
