Kunu
Settlement: Cape Dorset / Kinngait

Born in 1923, Kunu was known for her depictions of people, animals, and creatures in her drawings and prints. She had a number of works included in the first Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection in 1959.
She lived at Kangia camp with her husband Niviaxie, who was a very famous and influential Inuit artist. She is the mother of Pitseolak Niviaqsi and Qiatsuq Niviaqsi, who are both artists as well. Her work has been exhibited at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and has been collected by the National Gallery of Canada.
