Tye Adla

Settlement: Cape Dorset / Kinngait

(1936-1990) — E7-915

Tye Adla's was a sculptor and graphic artist; her husband Kalai is a sculptor. Her brothers Iyola Kingwatsiak and Mikigak Kingwatsiak, and her sister Keeleemeeoomee Samualie, are also artists. Adla began drawing after returning from a tuberculosis sanitorium in the early sixties. Her works, mostly of animals, were done in a style similar to that of her husband's.
