Diane Douglas Willard

Diane Douglas-Willard was born in California and raised in Washington state. She studied under the renowned Northwest Coast scholar and artist Bill Holm at the University of Washington, and later under Haida artist and master weaver Delores Churchill in Ketchikan, Alaska. Douglas-Willard also learned from Grace DeWitt, Holly Churchill, and Lucy Rainman. Her weavings are made from various materials such as cedar bark, raven’s tail, spruce root, and chilkat.
Douglas-Willard has led several workshops at the Totem Heritage Center in Ketchikan, Alaska, where she was awarded a Certificate of Merit, as well as teaching at the Seattle Art Museum and on the Alaska Marine Highway for Elderhostel.
