Note:
Jack Butler on Oonark:
“Whatever she set out to do at the beginning, what shines through is a tremendous human being with a great command of the artistic language given to her by her culture, and developed by herself.”
“’The general process of coming up with titles for Oonark prints was very difficult... She would resist to the end saying what it was about, or she’d change her story every time you talked to her. So it was difficult to come to some sense ... as to what title really would be appropriate.’... Oonark, like other artists - particularly prolific, creative ones - has conveyed layers of meaning here that she herself is consciously unaware of.”
Estimate: $5,000—7,000
