David Arnasungaaq

Settlement: Baker Lake / Qamani’tuaq

(1964) — E2-807

David Arnasungaaq is the son of the renowned Baker Lake sculptor Barnabas Arnasungaaq. His mother Fanny and his brother Norman are also artists.

He primarily works with bassalt stone found in the Baker Lake area. This stone is very hard, and makes fine details difficult to carve. Arnasungaaq's minimalistic style represents the material with which he works.
