Provenance:
Acquired directly from the artist in 1967. The consigner had a history working in the Arctic during most of the 1960’s. First working in Tuktoyaktuk in the early 1960’s making fur products for sale with local Inuit women. She then moved to the community of Spence Bay (Taloyoak), where she continued her work as a government official. As the Assistant Area Administrator, she enacted various roles including working with artists as part of the government initiated arts and crafts program.
