Note: This work is featured as the June 1960 frontispiece of the United Nations World Refugee Year newsletter. The pamphlet covered the story of “Operation Eskimo,” in which the people of Iqaluit presented their works to be auctioned in aid of the United Nations refugee rehabilitation programs.
Subsequent to the sale, journalist Teddi Donovan spoke of the work in the May 6, 1960 Toronto Telegram, hailing this piece, “the evening’s classic carving.”
