The believed subject for this work is the story of the the woman who adopted a caterpillar as a child. A childless woman happened across a caterpillar. The woman adopted the caterpillar and looked after the creature as she would her own child. The woman nursed the caterpillar until it grew large enough to speak, crying “tee, tee, tee.”
