I can do the same thing." Born at Illutalik camp, Lypa moved to Pangnirtung in 1967 and became a successful printmaker and sculptor. In 1977, he moved his family to an outpost camp, where he makes a living today as an artist and hunter. He is the subject of the film Lypa, produced by the National Film Board. Two of the tapestries on display here were inspired by Lypa's drawings depicting epic myths from Inuit oral history.
