Northern Rock Susan Gustavison 1999I find that there are different ways of carving when you want to make a quality piece out of good solid rock, because it doesn't break off like a softer stone does.I've been carving most of my life. But I grew up in Kimmirut, not here in Arviat. I started when I was about six years old, just doing it by practicing. I learned from my dad and the elders mostly by watching.
