The Legacy of Women in Inuit Art

What are the artistic disciplines that have been almost exclusively occupied by women across the history of Inuit art? What contributions and innovations have female artists made to the Inuit art world?

We look at the artistic legacy left behind by female artists, and the contemporary female artists who are now innovating further in fields like traditional garment making, throatsinging, storytelling and intergenerational knowledge transfer across mediums to celebrate the often unsung contributions female artists have made to the Inuit art world.
