Award night for Susan Aglukark
Gov. Gen. Mary Simon, right, presents the 2022 Humanitarian Award to Inuk singer-songwriter Susan Aglukark at the Juno Awards on May 14 in Toronto. The award recognizes philanthropic contributions of Canadian artists who have made a meaningful impact on social welfare. Aglukark was honoured for her dedication to improving the lives of children and youth in northern Indigenous communities through her Arctic Rose Foundation, which runs after-school arts programs for Indigenous youth.
